As a native Hawaiian cultural practitioner and social entrepreneur for over 30 years, my passion is mentoring medical and wellness practitioners who are seeking to bridge spirit with science and indigenous healing. My practice is rooted in the Hawaiian, Japanese, Chinese and English ancestral values and traditions of my family, who taught me how to honor the dynamic interdependence between the spiritual, natural, and human realms.

My mission is to enhance wellness, resiliency and sustainability for individuals, communities, and our precious ʻāina – land and nature through lōkahi. Lōkahi is a cherished Hawaiian value and means harmony, unity, and accord. When we practice lōkahi, we achieve internal and external peace. We also achieve ongoing prosperity, leading with good health.

Kahuna Halealoha Makua, my elder, traditionally ʻūniki (initiated) me in the Hawaiian psycho-spiritual traditions of our family, including hoʻoponopono (traditional conflict-resolution). This background allows me to impart the ancient Hawaiian spiritual practices of our family to clients, which primarily include medical and mental health care professionals, NGO, governments, foundations, architects, engineers, scientists and social entrepreneurs.

It has been my privilege to globally co-create and lead personal and indigenous community development programs that integrates Hawaiian and other indigenous wisdom traditions, healing practices, the arts, humanities, S.T.E.A.M (science, technology, engineering, art, agriculture, math) environmental stewardship, and green technology to build regenerative communities.

I have shared the wisdom of our Hawaiian ancestors in two international bestselling books co-authored with Ken Honda and James Redfield and compiled by Corey Poirier. In Fall 2024, my third book will be released which I co-authored with Bob Proctor. My kuleana (lineal responsibility, privilege and work) has been featured on GAIA, A & E and BRAVO. I have served as a United Nations panelist for Financing for Development Forum, and am a Ford Fellow and Smithsonian Fellow.

A ʻohe pau ka ʻike i ka hālau hōʻokahi.
